How to Manifest like a B.O.L.D. Mother
I manifested this photo.
Taken minutes before I went on stage and read my motherhood journey out to 500 people.
A year ago, when I was just realising I could be on to something with this F*** Mum Guilt movement, I joined a group of spiritual female entrepreneurs for a quarterly planning session. We kicked things off with a meditation.
In that meditation, a name kept coming into my head, someone I hadn’t spoken to for years. It made no sense. I drafted an email but didn’t send it. Weeks later, I posted on LinkedIn about wanting media coverage. She was the first to respond. I kicked myself for not trusting my intuition sooner.
We caught up on a walk, and over a dog walk, she gave me everything: who to pitch, what journalists want, how the game works. Since then, I’ve been featured everywhere.
After that call, she messaged me about a project. Stacey Dooley was looking for mums with interesting stories. That conversation, plus a vision board I shared with my community a year ago (below) with “author” and “mama motivational speaker” on it, set everything in motion.
The “Should Show” vs. Tapping Into Intuition
The “Should Show” is the endless loop of expectations. It starts externally with everyone else telling you what you should do, but we end up absorbing it and telling ourself what we should do.
The fourth step in my Break Up with Mum Guilt framework is intuition, not instruction, trusting yourself over outside noise. It’s an important part of manifestation.
Let’s Manifest Like a B.O.L.D. Mother
Break free from “The Should Show.” Get your mind in a free and playful state. Get out of your own way, and take the BS with you. If you meditate, you may be able to drop into this state, but I find music helps. This is a good track to close your eyes and dance to.
Own your true desires. Now, in that expansive, joyful state, think about what could make you feel like that. What does your heart (not your head) really want? Allow yourself free rein here.
See what comes in. Maybe a project you’ve always wanted to do, maybe it’s a person you want to reconnect with or who you admire and want to emulate in some way (like Gabby for me), maybe it’s a hobby, maybe it’s a place (like the beach for me).
Whatever it is, be in the energy of it. This means allowing yourself to feel how it would feel to be/do/achieve this thing. When I thought of being an author, I imagined how I’d feel seeing the book on the bestseller charts.
Warning: your inner BS might pipe up at this point. Zip it.
Listen to your intuition. Let your desires take shape without overthinking. Vision board it if you’re visual. Or write it down. Even if it doesn’t make sense, put it somewhere visible. A year ago, I wrote a newsletter about this vision board with the TED logo on. Now, I’m a TEDx speaker.
Do it. Most people stop here. At this stage Leila the top female entrepreneur steps forward and gets strategic. Who could help? What can I Google? DM someone. Buy the domain. Start. Follow the breadcrumbs.
Manifestation isn’t just wishing. It’s ditching the shoulds. It’s trusting yourself, believing you’re worthy of it and taking aligned action. The universe meets you halfway if you show up.
So, what are you ready to manifest? And what’s one B.O.L.D. step you’ll take this week?
Let me know. Let’s make it happen.
